SCItouch 7.0

Scitouch 7.0 is a touchscreen display designed for a diesel engine-driven fire pump controller. The display has an integrated program that facilitates the management and monitoring of the diesel engine and indicates if there are any anomalies. The display features several parameters that are updated by the customer at startup or can be changed according to needs as required.

Scitouch 7.0 also has the option to manually start the engine with the press of a button. It includes automatic start parameters for testing and maintaining the engine in optimal condition. The screen displays events related to both the engine and the status of the chargers and backup batteries.

This controller consist basically in two electronic cards. One of them is designed to control and manage the batteries power. Measure, voltages, currents, status and decide when connecting batteries to charges respectively. It has overcurrent protection and inverse voltage protection. It can be connected to both voltages (12vdc, 24vdc) system. It send information by serial communication to the control card. 

The other card (control board) is responsible for making important decisions. It constantly monitors the motor and the fire sprinkler system pressure. If there is a drop in pressure, the board's processor will take appropriate actions according to the internal program and manipulate the relay outputs to activate the diesel engine. All events are recorded in real-time on a microSD card. The information from these events is available for the client to analyze in a .csv file.

The board also measures the AC voltage to which the chargers are connected. It sends audible alarms and displays events on the screen. The control board also has the option to connect additional analog inputs, as well as expansion boards for analog and digital inputs or digital outputs.

• Automatic and Manual Start: The controller is designed to automatically start the diesel engine of the pump when a drop in water pressure in the fire protection system is detected, indicating a potential fire. It can also be manually activated if necessary.
• Engine and System Monitoring: The controller continuously monitors the condition of the diesel engine and the pump system. This includes monitoring key parameters such as engine speed, temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level, among others.
• Alarms and Protection: If a problem is detected, such as a start-up failure, low oil pressure, high engine temperature, or low fuel level, the controller triggers an alarm to alert operators. In some cases, it may also attempt to restart the engine automatically.
• Backup Batteries: Diesel controllers are typically equipped with backup batteries that ensure the engine can start even if there is a power loss in the main electrical system. The controller also manages the charging and status of these batteries.
• Event Logging: Like other fire pump controllers, diesel controllers log key events such as pump starts, alarms, and failures. This logging is crucial for system maintenance and auditing.
• Standards and Certifications: Similar to other fire pump controllers, diesel controllers must comply with strict international standards, such as those from the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), and have certifications from organizations like UL (Underwriters Laboratories) or FM (Factory Mutual).
